How to read an audio file from an Olympus dictaphone without a Olympus dictaphone ?

- This kind of tool is plugged to the USB port.
- A specific program is needed to upload the files from it to the computer.
- It seems that the file format is proprietary and different, so it needs to be converted to a ".wav" file.

A software exists that does this: ODVR: http://code.google.com/p/odvr/
But it does both together: loading the files and convert it to ".wav". It seems impossible to run it only to ear or translate the audio files!

And my problem is that I do not have any Olympus dictaphone, and I have to receive the audio files in this Olympus format from a Windows user, who use "DSSLite" under Windows to ear it. I did not receive any file to know that yet.

How could I do then to read an Olympus file without the Olympus USB dictaphone ? Are there an other tool that ODVR ? A command-line converter perhaps ?

I sent this question to the authors of "ODVR", but they are mutic! Does anybody knows how to do this ?

Thanks.
