Hi,

could anyone please suggest me what i should use to have a blinking network status icon in tray in GNOME ?

maybe not blinking, but showing network activity somehow?

i have tried many apps, but they are either for KDE or working as separate windows, and i need one as a tray icon, or at least taking small desktop space.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The network manager icon will be in the Notification Area but the old network monitor icon now needs you to download the gnome-netstatus-applet. You will then find the network monitor in the applet list from a right click in your panel.

I've installed gnome-netstatus-applet , but nothing changed.

To be more exact, i'm looking for something like GKrellM system monitor, but just for network, and as system tray icon, if possible.

So far i'm using GKrellM, just switched all charts but network off, and set that window always on top.
