When using RealPlayer 11 in Windows, you get an option to download and save the content to your hard disk. In the Ubuntu/Linux version, this isn't an option.

Are there any programs available for Ubuntu that will allow the downloading of video streaming content?

Usually there are online things that will let you download streaming video. Ex: google "download youtube video"

is that what you are asking?

Yep.

I've attached an image grab from a Windows PC highlighting the box allowing you to download.

Hi chrome4,

I believe that many are using:

Video DownloadHelper 4.4.1
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

i know that youtube videos and a lot of other flash content will show up in your /tmp folder while it's loaded so you can just copy it to wherever you want.

no app needed in those cases
