I am brand new to linux and ubuntu and the open source side of the internet. I just learned about Commons Deeds and licenses and thought that this was great because I wanted to print out a CD case cover for the ubuntu Live CD and ubuntu Install CDs I made.
So I started right-clicking on little Commons Deeds-related graphics, fridges in the art gallery, I tried to look for some screenshots of ubuntu, to put all together in a collage so I could make my CD case cover.
But the license type information is not in the properties sheets for these graphics ... how do I tell what is available for use?
I have started preparing my second hard drive for the ubuntu install but am still researching all the info I will need and how to enter strings in files and all that ... I thought I would ask in this Ubuntu Art Talk forum about the license info for Commons Deed graphics ... maybe I will see what license type and the author when I look at the properties sheet when running Ubuntu? Gee, at this point, I don't even know if properties sheets exist in linux.
How do I tell if a file has a Commons license and who the author is and how do I follow the rules for using them in printing out my CD/DVD case covers?
Thanks for any help ... blueskye
