Anyone tryed athene desktop?
If so is it working fast as they say on there site, And is it working as a desktop should work.
And what about there philosiphy you think its a good thing?
Downloading it atm so will post my idea's later, if the thread is readed hehe ;)

Edit : there is no livecd only if you order it it can act as livecd and install. That sucks ;)

Cool, I'm wondering about their X server. It's proprietary AFAIK, but I wonder if we can duplicate such a thing.

Looks great, and says that is at least 25% faster than X11... but, isn't FREE.

There is a free desktop addon for windows/linux.
But i wanted mainly some info from people that used it. Info about what they claim. a new tech that doesn't use x11 is also interesting.

Basicly, it is similar to what OS X does, it implements an X11 compatible display protocol that is a lot faster.
I'm wondering how it compares to Xorg 7 though.

hey, so is it any good? I have an old thinkpad 600E for my mother, but most versions of windows run slow on it, I'd love to have a really fast version of linux that emulates the environment of windows.
I'm getting this laptop set up for my mother.
