making slideshow dvd's

I have used iLife (iPhoto, iTunes, iDVD) to make slideshow DVD's that include both photos and music.

I'm trying to find the appropriate applications to perform the same tasks in Xubuntu 9.04.

What applications can I use to turn image files and a sound file (ogg or mp3) into a video file?

What applications can I use to convert the video file into a DVD image that can be played on DVD players?
