i'm running Ubuntu 8.04 (I'm a newb to Linux / Ubuntu though I have played with Gentoo in the past a little bit). Everything works great EXCEPT the wireless. I've finally got it so that it sees the different signals around me including my own and my neighbors unsecure linksys connection. If i try connecting to mine and enter the WEP key, it will time out and eventually ask for the key again... and this repeats forever, i've check, double checked and triple checked that my key is correct so that is not the issue. I decided to try connecting via my neighbors unsecure wireless and it just times out.. never connects, never does anything.

this is especially infuritating as i had installed version 9 last night and everything worked great, wireless and all. but there's some sort of bug that causes the CPU usage to roll around 100% all the time, something about Xorg, which was using the majority of that. i saw many people had the issue and there was no fix, so now i'm trying version 8.

let me know if you have any ideas, know how, etc. i will check in in a few to see if you need anything from me.

thanks!

you can delete this. i'm good to go. i think i had it working after the going through the whole NDIS wrapper deal (I have the broadcom 43xx crap). however, after a 9 hour work day, followed by 3 hours at school and no dinner, i apparently missed the option to tell it to use a HEX key..

i'm retarded but at least it's working. time for bed.
