Help movie/video problem

How do i address this:

Everyting i play in in all players is color washed and jumpy this includes video's from my camera to dvd's placed in my drive. Every player does the same wether vlc or smplayer ect.

When / how did this problem first occur? I assume that pictures do look normal on your system?

Photo Pictures are OK, only motion pictures.

Cant remember anything I did out of the ordinary that would of caused the change.

If I upgraded from Hardy Heron, which I'm thinking of doing I might solve the issue, the only problem here is I would not have discovered the cause of the problem ant learned a little somthing..

Check if you have libdvdcss (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libdvdcss) installed. Medibuntu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medibuntu) is also something you should take a look at.

Also, fast native graphics drivers are recommended for more demanding graphics. Do you have this installed?

I had everything working initially to begin with so libdvdcss would have been installed.
