Because it has more features then 0.9.1 (http://www.gnome.org/projects/rhythmbox/news.html) Podcast, etc ..
It meets backport requirements.

what is the hold up with RB 0.9.2?
it's been called "done" for nearly 2 months IIRC and isn't anywhere in sight. :-|

Haven't tried source, but there is a .deb I've been using for a while now. The DAAP support in this version is very experiemental, though. Not the fault of the guy who packaged it it's just a very recent addition and will take a while to get right. Anyway, here is the thread with the .deb:
