I'm converting some records for different family members to Flac files using Audacity. I would like to be able to scan for place where the music fades out at the end of a track so I can separate the songs with out having to listen to the whole record again. I tried the Silence Finder but it doesn't seem to find place that are silent I've tried to change the settings a few times but it doesn't seem to work for me.
If some could suggest a different tool in Audacity or a different program I should try that would be great
Thanks
Dan

DanThis is something you have to do manually. It is easy enough, but takes time. I found this tutorial (http://www.xaprb.com/blog/2008/08/30/how-to-digitize-records-with-ubuntu-a-usb-turntable-and-audacity/) to be helpful when recording my vinyl.
Good luck and enjoy listening to all that wonderful crust! (I find it funny that when records were the only way to listen to music, we wanted them to be absolutely clean...then CD's came along and I now find that I like the sound of crackles and crust on my newly digitized vinyl.../obtuse observation)
