I have installed Ubuntu and love it. The only thing that is preventing me from completely changing over my PC to Linux is the necessity of running an audio program that I use to transfer and clean vinyl and tapes. The program is DC7 from www.diamondcut.com. I have downloaded CrossOver and I am able to install the program (DC7) and actually run the help files, but I cannot open the DC7 program itself. Any ideas? I'm new to Linux so go slowly.

Visit www.diamondcut.com to see this program. Also www.enhancedaudio.com is a good site. I don't work for either, but have been using this program since 1997. The Library of Congress also uses it for archival purposes.

Thanks.

There is a program in the repositories called gramofile, I have used it to transfer vinyl to mp3 and cd. It is a command line program. You can use Add/Move Programs or Synaptic Package Manager to install it. For help open a terminal and type:

man gramofile

Record using audacity. Export as a .wav

Then use gwc from the repositories. This works nicely and is customisible as well as having a nice GUI.
