Hello everybody.
Ubuntuts.com (http://www.ubuntuts.com) has just started its long way towards success.
We are a couple of guys writing Ubuntu tutorials and howtos and we are opened to other contributions from the community.
What does an author profits from writing from Ubuntuts.com?
An author will have his/her own tutorials page.
An atuthor will earn from his/her own Adsense code that will show on his/her own posts.
An author will learn a lot form other people's tutorials
An author will meet and share experience and ideas with great people.

This is offtopic, but:
Fix illegible fonts by ensuring a contrast ratio of 4.5:1 between the text and the background color (WCAG 2.0 AA). Use this: http://www.msfw.com/accessibility/tools/contrastratiocalculator.aspx

carstenbn, what do you mean by fixing illegible fonts. I ensure you that everything is clearly legible.

nicely done. gratz!
one feature request: move or create an rss option at the top of the page. when i come across a blog that looks interesting, the first thing i do is subscribe. am i alone in this? maybe, but seems to me to be a quick easy way to guarantee repeat readers.

Thanks for the good words Alex. As you can see on this thread, this project is started by me and Albhear. We are open to writers and contributors. I would like to have you around Alex - I know you can say a lot about web design and development on ubuntu.

It's nice, but your logo seems to clash with the background.
Red on blue = big web design no-no.

@Giant Speck,
What do you suggest???
I just saw your Macchiato GTK theme, Why don't you register at Ubuntuts.com and write about that, there.

Thanks very much for that - we really appreciate it and we would love to have you write tutorials for design with ubuntu (or other things you do) at our site.

You have to write a post (that is why we have enabled registering). After you post your article, it will be there for approval. We will have a look and than approve it.
Thanks and let me know if you need something else.

Just to clarify in my own mind how this works...
I would just submit an article/tutorial/tweak etc. and it would be approved - or declined I suppose, but assuming the former - posted as is.
This site is not collaborative in nature?

We think to change the current design, but we are not very much in favour of a ubuntu-like theme. I hope we will come out with something nice.

Bodsda, I read your post a liked it - thanks. It was new fresh info :) We are eager for your next article.

The site is collaborative in nature. The site has commenting system where people can ask questions, post clearative comments etc. The others also will soon be able to have their adsense code on the posts they post - we are working on it. Authors will also have a bio section under each post and at thier respective page with respective info and links.

I'm glad you liked it :), i'l finish the next article when I get home early evening tomorrow (now + 20 hours).
p.s: An earlier post asking about 'collaborative in nature' I think he meant, can peers edit the posts. (I may be wrong but that was my interpretation)

Well, yes and no. Having re-read my post I see I was not being clear. I think this answers my question, however:
... The site has commenting system where people can ask questions, post clearative comments etc.
I didn't know for sure if these tutorials, what you're asking for are collaborative projects, in that they are worked on by a team and then uploaded or if these tutorials are, simply put, "Posts". I worked on something similar but there it was comprised of a group of writers that compiled and wrote each tutorial, which was then reviewed and checked for accuracy by other team-members, before the final product was uploaded after being all polished up in its final format.
I think I'm clear now, thank you both.

Buddy, we thought of having a web page consisting of Ubuntu tutorials, howtos, tips & tricks, tweaks and more. The above categories' tutorials are being written mostly by writers not belonging to a team, at least up to now. Every post is reviewed and checked before posted in Ubuntuts.com (http://www.ubuntuts.com).
If you like you can contribute for Ubuntuts and we would be more than happy to have you there.
