View Full Version : Savage 2 is STILL having the openGL 2.1 issue?

Ive just downloaded it from their site, and I still get the stupid "Savage2 - Fatal Error: OpenGL 2.1 not available" error.

updating the game via the server is a PITA. why the fudge have they not fixed this?

I can't find a newer installer. The other OSs get 1.5.1 and we are left with 1.5.0. I reported it as a bug even if many others have probably done the same already.

they have announced that a new installer will be made (check the savage2 forums), but that was a while ago... guess they forgot

They have always been good with Linux support so hopefully it will be sorted.

Hey guys,

Just an update on the new installers. I had been putting it off for a bit while we took care of adding some major features to the game and cleaning up some longstanding issues. We're almost at the point where we'll be working on getting new installers out - I just would like to make sure that this latest patch (2.1) is free of major issues before taking the time to put them together. If nothing major shows up by next week or so I'll put out the order and the new installers will arrive shortly afterward.

1. wait for 2-3 weeks for the new installer to arrive

or

2. run the ./savage2_server.bin and/or ./savage2_update.bin first to get the game upgraded

There's no savage2_server.bin.
The savage_2update.bin also gives a Savage2 - Fatal Error: OpenGL 2.1 not available.
