When I uninstalled applications from wine, there were always some icons left in the "Other" submenu. I removed them from /.local/share/applications/wine folder just as method stated on the web. But there are still some left in the folder /.local/share/applications.

Anyone knows what are these icons used for? Can I remove them? some of these didn't show up in the "other" submenu.

Thanks a lot.

I wouldn't start deleting things I don't recognize from that directory. I believe that's where gnome stores it's icon sets.

They are just icons, after all. Even if you are really strapped for disk space deleting those can't possibly free up much space.
