I have a company laptop that I use and I purchased a separate hard drive to run linux on. They are replacing my laptop with a T400. Just when I got it the way I like it. I am coming from Windows. I have been playing around with linux for a couple of months.

Instead of reloading everything, could I just plug my linux hard drive into my new T400 and resolve any driver issues or would it be better to just reload everything?

Thanks
Shannon

You should be able to just plug the hard drive into the new computer and any new hardware will be sorted out. Linux is usually really good with this kind of thing.

Windows on the other hand is terrible, I can't even plug my usb keyboard into a different plug. It will just refuse to recognise there's a keyboard attached, so I can't even log in!

Thanks. That's the answer I was hoping for.
