Been trying to make a DVD of a French movie, Vidocq, with English subtitles. I have the subtitle file, .srt, and playing the original .avi in Xine works just fine- widescreen with proper subtitles, and a good subtitle size.
I found ManDVD as a simple option that does the file conversion and formatting from .avi for me (command line for various programs gave me errors, sick of typing), and it does indeed add a subtitle file to the movie- but no matter what I do, the font size is HUGE (takes up nearly 1/4 the screen by default!), and extremely annoying. Plus, the subtitle location parameter bars are far from intuitive for me, and no matter what I try, I keep getting big font subtitles, far up from the bottom of the screen, and once at the top!
Can someone maybe give me an idea of how to fix these issues? I want my subtitles at the very bottom edge, and not so huge.
Note to the program author- why can't you have a subtitle location option in the same nice form as your menu button location part? I hate wasting an hour to compile the dvd only to find yet another bad subtitle setting messing up a working dvd.
