Please help me, I'm new to this and I'm trying to figure out how to install Ubuntu netbook remix on a 4GB thumbdrive, but I'm lost and need any help... or should I just get the desktop version??? I would greatly appreciate your help or guidance. :confused

Step 1: Turn capslock off.
Step 2: When installing Ubuntu, select your thumbdrive as the disk to install to.
Step 3: On the final installation screen (before you click Install), click Advanced and install the boot loader onto the thumbdrive.
Now you have bootable Ubuntu thumbdrive.

except that it won't boot on a mac... Macs will not boot a "legacy OS" from an external device without a lot of difficulty. The best way to do this currently is with grub-efi. Check the FAQ for information on that.
the netbook remix doesn't really make sense for any mac right now anyway, just use the normal version.

OK, revised instructions:
1. Sell Mac.
2. Buy more powerful laptop from System 76 for less money.
3. Profit?

I like the interface and performance of Remix better than Gnome, KDE or XFCE. Can I install Remix on my macbook Pro and will the install work the same as with the regular Ubuntu? I already have 9.04 on one partition and Karmic on another?
