View Full Version : My artwork

A lot of people who've liked my artwork have been continuously emailing me, suggesting I send it to Mark Shuttleworth. Well, so, I did.
I've asked about joining the artwork team as well, so I may be looking into that. This is part of what he said:
Hi Bryan,
I've asked some of the guys doing theming at Canonical to take a look and get back to you. In principle we have space on the CD for two community-contributed themes and if yours is the best out there then it should definitely be on the Karmic CD.
I've already told most of you who've emailed me, but just to repeat: I am flattered that you like my artwork, and I will continue to expand it and try my best to become more involved in official work, but I've contacted Mark, and now it's out of my hands. I've done my part, and if Canonical likes it, you'll know about it.
Thanks everyone for supporting me thus far. :-)

Looking promising!
I'd like to see some of the art you've submitted, I haven't been following.

Cool! And, yeah, I think your artwork should be on the Karmic Koala release.

That's a good compliment and we will believe in that if you show us your artwork. Can you give us the link(s) to your artwork?

I'm not completely sure but I think he may be talking about his work in this thread:

At any rate, I'd like to see it in the release :D

I agree, the first time he released the theme, I loved how it shows more brown shades, because Ubuntu's default theme is, well, orange. Also, when he released it, I already wanted to get stuff like wallpapers, Firefox Personas (couldn't find one, so I made one), lock-screen theme, login screen... Even if it isn't the default theme in the next release of Ubuntu, it should be in the Themes.

His lunchpad account is bryanlbasil (https://launchpad.net/%7Ebryanlbasil)
and his backgrounds are named Coala del karma

Im not too impressed with those wallpapers though. Looks like a merge of the elephant skin, hardy default, the alternative jaunty wallpaper named Simple (, one that I cannot find any more) and Hardy_Simple_Colors_by_perfectska04.
It's a good job, but it looks and feels like too many wallpapers I have had, and Koala in my opinion needs something completely fresh.
