I wouldn't consider myself a _total_ newb, but I don't know where to begin with this problem.

This isn't the first time it's happened. Sometimes, when I try and install a gtk-2.0 theme from gnome-look.org, I get some basic blocky settings, not nearly what the theme should look like. This time, I downloaded a gtk theme directly from wiki.ubuntu.com, Ubuntu Dust (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/DustTheme?action=show&redirect=Artwork%2FIncoming%2FIntrepid%2FDustTheme ). When I apply the theme, the window border works but not the controls. When I go into the "Customize" with the theme highlighted, the "Controls" tab shows Dust with a ? over it.

I've installed the theme manually and "drag-n-drop"

Any suggestions?

EDIT: I do have murrine-gtk2-engines installed.

Which version of Murrine and which version of the Dust theme? If you're running Hardy, as listed under your name, you'll need Dust-0.3, not Dust-0.4

A screen dump? I must be a total newb.. :D

not sure how to check the version of the gtk2-murrine-engines, but I am using Hardy. So I'll try the 0.3 version, thanks.

Could someone help me identify this theme?
