Hi all,

My 2.5 year old laptop just decided to stop turning on today (hp tx1000 - alot of people have had this issue, seems to be cause by the motherboard frying itself).

As such I'm looking to by a new laptop. After shopping around, it seems that with the Au/US exchange rate as it is, System76 are selling at great prices.

I particularly like the look of the Serval Professional model.

So is there any chance that System76 will ship to Australia now/in the near future - considering their is no worthy competition ;)

Anywho, I under stand this question has been asked before, but there doesn't seem to be a recent post, so heres to trying.

Cheers,

Boo

PS: I have looked at Pioneer Computers, ZaReason and VG Computing. But they either are more expensive or just lack the customer/ linux support of System76.

Or New Zealand?...

I doubt it though, pretty sure it's strictly US only. I have heard good things about ZaReason, but I haven't really compared the prices.

Try clicking the shipping link on the website, and/or clicking the contact link and ask them.

Yea that shipping link seems to flatly reject the idea, as it clearly states US/Canada only :(.

Would contact them directly but I think I will get a quicker reply by posting

I just can't believe that there isn't an Australasia/Pacific 'System76'.

Thanks for the replies

Thanks All,

Well that is sad news. Myusabox seems to be an interesting concept, however I think I would like the warranty support. As such I'm now looking closely at ZaReason - as they seem to be only a little more expensive.

Cheers,

Boo
