Just curious as my searches haven't turned up a thing.
Is there a glass-like theme for Gnome? I know there's one in KDE, but personally.. i don't like Konquerer enough to the point the theme isn't enough to keep me.
I know it's a bit petty.. but i would like to have a bit more modern looking theme on my box. With KDE and OS X leading the way and Vista finally catching up... just curious if there's anything to duplicate this type of skin for Gnome?
Some examples of what i'm talking about:
KDE

Vista: (the open windows.. not the toolbar)

Metacity doesn't support the composite extension yet....and don't hold your breath.

The latest metacity development release has a brand new composite manager. It needs Xorg from CVS though (7.1 in a few months).

lol i think it looks slick. While i love Gnome far more than KDE, i do think that even with some of its best themes.. it looks a bit dated.

I personally like gnome best. Some KDE packages like Kile are better then anything gnome has though. That theme would look nice in gnome.

I prefer gnome because KDE's prettiness crashes

I like Gnome better because it doesn't install software you don't need (ever seen the list of softwarenames beginning with K?)

Gnome-Beryl-Xgl running some Emerald themes are as modern looking as I have seen. More is on the way as Beryl becomes more stable. By the time Vista rolls out this stuff will be old hat and Linux will be moving onto something else.
(I've read that Aero is highly unstable and very, very hardware specific and intensive)

My usage of Vista Aero was v. positive never had any problems with the UI. UI aside, vista often seemed to thrash my harddisk. I think it was indexing the files or something, but it really annoys me when I use it.

I have not checked out the glass theme yet, I am@work :( but will later tonight. I was wondering how much work people think is required for a complete set? How many icons is in the pack in comparison to other icon packs? Are we missing 30? 100?
