Hi,
I'm experiencing a very strange behaviour with the keyboard layouts in Jaunty.
As default, I use "German" layout, default variant. On a german keyboard, in order to write symbols like []{}@\ etc. you need to push the "Alt Gr"-Button and then push e.g. 8 for [ and 9 for ] etc.
I think in English, this key is called compose key (maybe I'm wrong about that).
Anyway, this works fine if I have only the German layout, default variant in the list of chosen layouts.
Now I wanted to add the German layout again, as a second layout, with variant "Dead Acute". The idea is that if I switch to this layout, I want to get the ^ symbol as soon as I press the button.
The weird thing is now that after I add this variant to the list of chosen layouts, my "Alt Gr"-Button isn't working anymore with the default variant layout!
If I remove the "Dead Acute" variant again, the "Alt Gr" button works perfectly again, on the default variant.
How come that the pure existence of a second layout influences the behaviour of the first? Is that a bug?
Setting the option "Compose key position" to "Right ALT" doesn't work either: It enabled the "Alt Gr"-Button on the "Dead Acute" variant, but in the default variant, it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have the same experience?
Bernhard
