A little argument was sparked on a friends YouTube video when he said "guh-nome" so I was wondering if any of you could make a video response saying how you pronouce it and why or if you even care how people say it.
How do you say GNOME? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgWTQTdk810) Thanks.

There are two "proper" ways to say it. G-nome and gnome (like a garden gnome.)

@73ckn797
haha...of course not...GNOME is an acronym, so there are many possibilities to pronounce it...compared to 'gnat' and 'gnome' which are already defined in the dictionary on how to pronounce it...
like CIA, its cee-ay-ey, not ceeya...:D
or KDE, it can be kay-dee-e or keedeh or whatever that person may like to call it...

I usually say "nome" but if I'm talking to my cousin, I say "g'nome", cause he thinks thats right and proper. Then I ask him if the g'nats are biting, and if he's ever seen a g'nu, and then after awhile I start adding a g' to about ever g'third word I g'say in a sentence just becuase I can.

Pig Latin is another interesting way to talk.
Gnome = ome-gna; ome-gayna or ome-na (remember silent "g").:guitar:

It could also be pronounced Omagna but that sounds like a song of reverence to the Magna Carta.

nome of course.
"In classical genetics, the genome of a diploid organism including eukarya refers to a full set of chromosomes or genes in a gamete; thereby, a regular somatic cell contains two full sets of genomes."
G-Nome is how MTV would have you say it.

I personally believe that's wrong, the "G" is silent. So it's just "nome".
