I finally got the back end and front end set up to watch TV. I am using the schedules download, mythfilldb etc. UNfortunately I do not get above Channel 13 (my cable package has 70 plus channels) and the picture is not great.
Any ideas how to get ALL channels and improve the reception?

Channels:
In mythtv-setup, you want to select cable, not broadcast
Reception:
Unless you have a bad signal, increase the bitrate and resolution of your recording groups in the frontend

THank you. Perfect solution. I actually had to add or change ot us-cable in two places in the setup.
Do you know of a way to get controls in the front end while watching TV? LIke in Windows MCE? Seems like the only thing I can do is watch TV then ESC out of the front end entirely. I an switch channels with arrow buttons and enter.

I don't think I understand what you are saying. You can switch channels in the frontend. Depending on what remote you have though I'm not sure what button it is. It would be the menu button (or guide should bring up a guide). It's the green MCE button on most MCE remotes.
