I am using the latest nvidia driver with 8500GT and I am gettting problem with overscan on my tv as I missing portions of the edges of the picture. I am using a old SONY for a TV. Signal are being broadcast in Australia as DVB-T and PAL-BG
I tried different modelines which appeared to qualitatively improve picture quality but appeared to do little else. Played arround with 1,2 and 3rd parameters of each block but could not get an improvement that I noticed.
Do proprietry nvidia drivers support changes to modelines?
Any suggestions as to what I may do next?
The nvidia-settings offered no joy as it does not have setting to change overscan and does even allow me to set 50Hz PAL 720x576. Why is nvidia-setting not helping me here?
