The guy does not mention GIMP once. Don't know if its because of the name that would put people off buying it? However do you think he is misrepresenting the product buy not letting people know it is GIMP in the first place?

I think if anyone wants to sell Open Source software, they should at least be made to provide a link to a page about Open Source, what it is and why it is free.
Could also plug Linux as an alternative OS within this.

He does mention on there, that this is open source, but I think he still needs to tell people it is actually GIMP people are buying.

Was he offering any support plan or anything along with the software? Because otherwise, he's not really being honest. Not that he's doing anything specifically wrong.

It appears he's flogging a bunch of free software applications there. He's just cashing in on most Windows users' belief that you have to pay for the best software. At least the prices aren't completely absurd, though. He needs an "o btw this product is also available online for free" banner somewhere. But even then something tells me his buyers will see that and think, "Yeah, with a Bonzi Buddy and a zillion Firefox toolbars!!" and go ahead and buy the real deal.

A friend of mine found a guy selling pirated copies of Maya for like $399.99. He bought it thinking it was legit and then it came as a burned Cd.

To get the guy back he bid like $1000 on all his auctions (dozens and dozens), so the guy was stuck paying the listing fees, then he just closed his account. The guy prolly lost quite a bit.

There's nothing wrong with selling FOSS software. Even RMS says so.

It seems that someone reported it, because the product is not available anymore. It was available 2 minutes ago :)

If he'd have mentioned it was GIMP, I'd have no problem with it. Heck, RMS isn't against it. I'd love to actually package up a series of FOSS CD's and sell them in one big, slick package.

Granted, this guy probably just did the ol' Burned Disc method. Ah well.

I don't see any wrong there, but i think it's kind of stupid?

Why will you buy something you can download for free without any difference?

I am thinking about possibly boxing a few FOSS applications and giving 50% of profit to the dev teams. I have a few contacts within UK supermarkets so a good foot in the door.

Might never happen but I am starting to look into the technicalities and potential of it.
