Hello all.

Well I've gone from being a Win-Power User++ to a Ubuntu noob. This being my 3'rd day with Linux and all. After spending the last six hours getting my wifi adapter working (eyes still bleeding), I've managed to resist booting back into my WinXP partition. Although there does need to be a "Noobie Rage Quit" option in here somewhere...

After setting up the wifi and my ATI cards I found this thread/sticky:
Comprehensive Multimedia & Video Howto (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=766683) and followed it. Damn fine work, props to author.

Problem is that every time I attempt to play a DVD (commercial or custom) with mplayer I get this error pop-up "Seek failed". VLC begins playback, but if I try to run full screen the system freezes forcing a reboot. Movie Player begins playback also, but but crops off 2/3 of the picture and wont go full screen at all.

Am I missing lib's? Not sure how to tell, and I've DL'd all the codecs I could find with the package manager in addition to what the guide advised. I also have done sudo apt-get update several times as well.

Thank you in advance for replies.
