I don't know if this is old news or anything, but I just got my Zune to sync by running VirtualBox inside Ubuntu. You just have to add the Zune to virtualbox by going under settings and then USB devices.

One step closer to full ubuntu glory!

Thanks for the advice. Works great for me. Any idea on how to get wireless sync working?

This sounds very promising. So would VirtualBox require me to install the Zune software? I guess I'm looking for some details on how to get this going. I on my second Zune at this point and I freed myself from the iFraud masses. Zune chained to Windows is really my last frontier.
(Of course, I will have to keep Windows in dual boot for my Zune pass, but otherwise this would be a great help).

I have never had a need for VirtualBox, so any details would be great. Thx

Yea you still need to install the Zune software, but now it'll recognize your zune as long as you add it to your USB devices before you start VB.

Virtual Box takes away the need for dual boot altogether, unless you really need winblows on the machine as a stand-alone OS. Simply install your win* distro into the Virtual Box and you are set.

Yes, you will need to install the Zune soft... inside the VB win* OS and you will have full access to Zune Pass etc.

Working now on wireless sync.
