Hi,

I currently installed Wubi on my Win XP box it works great. The part that I am concerned about it in a week my company is going to install PGP Whole Disk Encryption.

I did some googling and saw mixed results from Wubi failed, windows crapped out, and it worked. These posts were fairly old.

So, today. I have Win XP installed with wubi. PGP is not installed.

What will happen when PGP is installed and configured? will they both work?

To be safe should I remove wubi then encrypt, then reinstall wubi?

Most important part is that I DO NOT loose my Win XP! (need for work)

Thanks,
Mitchell

Mitchell, Now might be an ideal opportunity to create backups of both your Windows and Wubi systems prior to the introduction of PGP whole disk encryption. It is often wise to make additional backups before any major hardware or software alteration. Is it possible for you to ask whoever is insisting upon installing PGP what they think will happen? A brief link to the PGP Whole Disk Encryption FAQ (http://www.pgp.com/products/wholediskencryption/) is worth a browse and may well address some of your concerns.

after reviewing PGP docs i see they only support dual boot with whole disk encryption on Windows. If they do partition based dual boot will work. I think im going to just unstall wubi and put ubuntu on a pen drive.

that way i know for sure i wont fubar my install.

thanks,
Mitchell
