I've noticed as Ubuntu gets more talked about in the press and gets passed around, the questions on the boards seem to be simpler and simpler- Does my wifi card work?,is a big one, how to see my network? is another. I guess it is a good thing but it can be frustrating since the same question is answered in the Howto/FAQ and previously on the boards. I'm just ventilating, every linux forum I have been on has the same problems-- Search is never used, documentation is ignored, and no hardware/software information is ever posted until someone asks for it. :|
I'm glad to see Ubuntu on the rise, I hope it is taking people away from Windows and not mainly other distros.
Anyway to track or poll the new members and see where they are coming from-Windows, Macs, or other Linux distros?
I read in this month's The Linux Journal magazine some of the editors were trying out Ubuntu and were planning a story on it. Good PR.
