I have Microsoft Office installed on my Windows Partition, which I can access through ubuntu, but I can't open winword.exe with wine.:( Does anyone know another way to run it? (Yes, I know I could use openoffice, but Word has some advantages)

Would be helpful if you mentioned which version.

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=10

You're going to need to install it on your Linux partition as running it otherwise will not work.
Depending on the version of Word it may not run anyway. So read up, try any instructions ou find on the appdb page, and provide more info.

PlayOnLinux can help you install Windows software. Microsoft Office 2000 and 2003. Word from office 97 installs with Wine with out any problem.

I agree with them, you have to install MSOFFICE through Wine, give this a try http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1173365

I hope this will help you.

My wine version is the latest updated one, I'm using Word '07, but is there any way I can install it without having to buy anything, since I already have it on my windows partition?

The current wine version 1.1.22 does not allow you to install Office 2007 due to a regression for you to install MSOffice you have to install an earlier version.

Try NightMKoder guide http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1102840

or try mine http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1173365.

I don't believe that you're limited by the number of installs you can run on the same machine.
Just downgrade wine as was suggested and install it from your install cd.

I don't have an install CD. MS Office came preinstalled on my computer.

I guess you're using a dual boot OS where in you can locate your MSOffice's link but it doesn't mean that you can locate the link you can use it right away you still have to install MSOffice in your Ubuntu because it's a different OS. So that means you need your MSOffice CD installer.

Where would I find the installer, then?
