So I recently install Blueproximity on my laptop to lock it and mute sound when I walk away from my laptop. I then had an apartment inspection coming up, to check if the fire extinguishers were mounted correctly. Me being paranoid installed monitor on my laptop and tied that into the blueproximity script.

Here is where it gets good, me and my wife go out for our walk and the inspection people just "happened" to come by while we were out and proceed to let themselves in. While in the house they look around, pick up a few items; namely an ipod and the very laptop im typing this on and proceed to walk out with them.

Needless to say we come home and see these missing and I pulled up the pictures that were saved to the little westerdigital network drive and low and behold here are the pictures and video of the maintenance people takeing our stuff!!!

We took the footage to the office, they searched the two guys cars and I got my stuff back and got rid of two useless maintenance people. Gotta love it.

That sounds great that the set-up managed to be useful!

What is the 'monitor' program that you used? I didn't find any packages in the Ubuntu reps named that, and I'm interested in using it or a similar program.
