Could someone PLEASE help me with a couple of webcam problems??? The 1st one is when installing the driver on a Toshiba Satellite Intel Pentium M.

They have windows XP with service pack2.

The following message appears on a blue screen when they open the camera program.

"A problem has been determined and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage"

Stop: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xA8097DD2, 0xA9A63830, 0x00000000)
vvftav303.sys-Address A8027DD2 base at A8085000 DateStamp 467c6396

Does anyone know what this means?

Thank you,
Cherise

Most people here do not use Windows. We use an alternative and free operational system: Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com).

the users on this site run an operating system called Ubuntu and this site is for helping and getting help with Ubuntu, not for getting help with windows or windows programs.

I only included the link because i was feeling benevolent today so decided to give you 1 link direct to the microsoft support site.

The error message is coming from Windows. It's a general stop error, meaning the cause could be anything, but most likely it's related to a missing hardware driver. This really isn't the place to get good Windows support however; you should be able to get help with your cam here:

Good luck!

I did not understand that part however would like to know more about this.

I saw a beginners hand book. I'll begin there but very much appreciate your benevolence.

May I ask ...if I sent someone to a thread on this site with instructions to down load one of Michel Xhaard's drivers.her difficulty would be a result of following instructions for Ubuntu operating system vs the windows system she is usung?
