Greetings everyone. I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at this, but I went to hte page and signed up and gave a Gmail account for the verification email. It never arrived. I'd had that experience with Hotmail before, so I've become used to giving Gmail addresses.

Is this a bug or something or are they just swamped with requests?

I work on the Ubuntu One team. Sorry for the delay. We are very "swamped with requests" because the response has been incredible. The team is currently work hard to fix bugs and improve our infrastructure to support more beta users. Invitations should start to flow again soon so we can get even more feedback on the service as well as technologies used to improve the Ubuntu experience.

Thanks for the response!! One more question though :P

Should I wait for the email to arrive or should I request another one?

I too have requested and awaiting for the confirmation email.

How long does it normally take to receive the confirmation?

Thanks

Requesting a second invitation won't speed up the invitation granting process. We're still working on improving the scalability but should start granting invitations again very soon. Sorry for the delay.

Hehe... I wasn't thinking about "speeding it up".... it was more like "did my email get lost?" xD Don't worry about it.... I'll wait.. ;)

I hope this is not representative of what can be expected in the future. Are Ubuntuforums users get membership(free)? Can we have a single ID login?

It's not representative of what would happen in the future. As thebear78 said, the team is working on making sure the infrastructure improves as we add more users, because we're in beta mode still, which is why accepting the 1000s of invitations that we received is being a slow process. But as soon as we get to production mode, invitations should be accepted almost immediately.

So just be patient please, the team is hard working on accepting beta testers ASAP

Rodrigo,

If there is I can do to help out in the beta testing, it would be my honor

I have just wanted to give it a try and subscribed, took my place in the waiting queue.
Now it has been almost one month, no news, even one word.. Bored to see the same message everyday;

You are currently on the waiting list for Ubuntu One. As soon as we can, we'll be sending you an invitation code via email.

Look at it this way, it's probably worth waiting for.

I too have been waiting for a week or so. I'm really curious to see what the hype is about.

It's linked to your launchpad acct, so typo's are less likely :)

Well, frankly speaking, I doubt that; I am sure that, "Dropbox" would make me happy too. (even more than UbuntuOne)
What makes me wait for UbuntuOne is just my loyalty to the Ubuntu and eager to spread the Ubuntu.

Just for reference, I requested an invite the day that it was launched publicly, and I only got the email last week. So don't worry, it'll come eventually :)

I signed upto Ubuntu One the day after it was launched, and I see that some people have had thier inviations sent to them who applied after myself, I know a couple who have.

Is there any ETA about more invitations coming out soon?

Thanks

Andy

Same for me. A day after it was announced. I'll hold steady for now and hope to get an invitation. It looks interesting.

From what I've seen, people with Launchpad (https://launchpad.net/) accounts are getting the invitations before others. If you are going to beta test anything, you need a launchpad account.

I may have missed the invitation but when I tried installing the PPA and the program, it allowed me to install them.

Now I have access to ubuntuone.
