Well, obviously I am doing something wrong or else it would be working...

I am trying to install the GDM at this link here (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SystemAccess?content=52145). I installed the tar (#2) and saved it to my .themes folder. I then went to the login window manager and tried to install the theme. It says that my theme is installed now, but it doesn't show up on the list. Did I skip a step or something?

Just save the tar.gz somewhere. Then go to the Login Window, press the Add button and select your tar.gz that should be it.

First off: nice theme.

Secondly, try here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=84733 :)

Just save the tar.gz somewhere. Then go to the Login Window, press the Add button and select your tar.gz that should be it.

That's what I tried first. The login manager says that the theme is installed, but I am not seeing an entry in the list of themes. Even if anyone knows where these installed themes are kept, that would be helpful. That way I could delete the file manually and try again.

Try dragging and dropping the tar.gz file into the login preferences window.

Okay, I may have made this more difficult than it needed to be. The PACKAGE was called System Access, but the theme was called AGlanceIsEnough. Not a very descriptive title in my opinion. The screenshot was a picture of another theme entirely. It was there the whole time, but I never recognized it as a new theme. Sorry to have wasted your time. Thank you all for your help.
