View Full Version : [ubuntu] F-spot export to Flickr fails; used to work

I've used this before without problem but now when I export to Flickr, I get a window that says F-spot needs authorization to upload to Flickr. It says press authorize to open a browser and give F-spot the authorization. When I do so, it never does 'open a browser to give F the authorization'.
Any idea what the problem might be or how to fix?
Thanks

edit: also should note that export to Picasa web album seems to still work; still mystified.

Just curious, have you recently installed a different Web browser than what is configured under System --> Preferences --> Preferred Applications? This might be preventing Flickr from selecting the right browser application to launch the authentication process.

No new browser--same old Firefox; I haven't experimented with any others so there would only be one browser available as the preferred application. And it still works fine with Picasa web album uploading so there seems to be something peculiar to the Flickr interface or uploader.

I suffer from this too. There's a bug:
