View Full Version : adjusting channel freq

Is it possible to adjust the frequency for an individual channel? My sony bravia tv pulls in two channels, both listed as 8.1 (qam). The first click on 8.1 gives me one channel, and another click gives me another channel - but it still says 8.1.

On my mythbox (a hauppauge 1600 card), the 8.1 channel acts differently. Only one 8.1 channel (the one i really don't care about) is displayed, but the guide info is for the other channel.

I recently saw a myth screen where I could adjust the channel's frequency; I thought this might adjust the tuner to pick up the other adjacent freq. Of course, now that I need to find this screen - I can't find it.

Where is this option located, and is this something that may help this situation?

I tried searching the myth documentation and forums, but can't fine it.

Thanks,
John

You can change it in the Backend setup, the Channel editor. Or even easier from Mythweb: Settings > TV > Channel info.

The particular screen I was looking for was similar to the mythweb channels settings page, except it had slider controls. I tried using mythweb to change the "finetune" setting, but it didn't seem to have an effect; maybe I wasn't entering a large enough value.

In the "channel editor", the page I get (when hitting "e", or "enter") also doesn't have the sliders. I do get the page where I can change the channel call sign, or change the channel's video source data, but just can't find the darn sliders. I thought the sliders would take some of the guess-work out of tweaking the frequency.

Thanks,

John
