Hi all,

So far, everything has worked perfectly well out of the box on my new Gazelle Ultra, and I couldn't be happier with it. The only outstanding issue seems to be getting the microphone to work. I have installed the Gnome Alsa Mixer, but no matter what I do with those levels muting or unmuting, I don't seem to be able to get the microphone to record any sound. I've tried both Skype and the native Gnome sound recorder, and neither seem to work. Any advice? I have not yet found anything here in the forums, nor in the Sys76 knowledge base, the two places I figured I would check first.

Thanks in advance for helping.

This may help, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7361001#post7361001

towards the middle the solution was gone over to get my mic to work. Their were a lot of setting to mess around with in order to get mine to work properly. It would be fairly easy to overlook something, i did, the first time i messed with it.

Thanks miniyak, for the reply. After a bunch of fiddling, I managed to get it to work.

I'm not sure if it's normal, but every time I close gnome-volume-control, it toggles the audio recording from capture to the off position. In other words, when I want to use the Sound Recorder, or Skype, I have to manually turn on recording with gnome-volume-control.

Thanks again for the help.

Check that Skype isn't set to override your configurations... Its annoying like that, and will reset anything it wants to.
