Hi guys! I have a server with 512 mb in france ( and I am from latin america) and I am seeking to have a solution to control my server as VNC is too heavy for my 1mbit connection.

Installation instructions will be appreciated

Are they both ubuntu? If so then you could just use remote desktop or ssh either would be fine on a 1MB connection.

client is winxp and server is on ubuntu

I would suggest tightvnc you can get it free for both OSes

instead of VNC, I recommend FreeNX. install the server in your ubuntu computer then the client on your windows/mac/*nix of your choice:

alternatively you can also log into your server remotely with any web browser (with java support):
