I had windows XP working just fine in VirtualBox. I had a few documents stored on the desktop that I need.
This morning when I went start the virtual OS, it booted into one of my other virtual operating systems instead. I investigated to find that somehow the settings got changed and my virtual XP was accessing the wrong .vdi virtual hard disk. So I selected that correct .vdi file and started the vm, but then it asked me to reactivate windows and when it did boot into the desktop, everything was a clean install. I've lost everything. All my updates, my folders, installed programs.... Is there a way to access the files from my old desktop before all this happened? Perhaps by booting into safe mode or something? Please let me know if there's a way...
