configuring localserver on Quanta plus

hi....
i devoloped a website with dreamviewer on wind xp platform...but now im going to completely turn to ubuntu..i use quanta as the web editor..i have already installed the xampp 1.7 on my machine. now when i open that webpages which are located on the localserver folder with quanta plus and when i choose the built in preview option...it wont display my php script..

what i need to do is..
i want to run that built in preview in quanta through the local server,.,.
i did configure dat in dreamviewer,, but in here i have no idea how to do it..

so please..can anyone help me to do this...

i already installed xampp and its runs without a problem..

what i exactly want is..i want to run/display my php script on built in quanta plus preview.. other than saving the file in localserver folder and type http://localserver in firefox to view the php scripts...
