Hi

Is there a way to install squidguard 1.4 on ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04 other than compiling from sources.

There's only version 1.2 on the repos..

Thanks

Hi

I already posted earlier to know if it's possible to get squidguard 1.4 through apt-get.

In case it's not possible, I want to know if I should go with squid3 + squidguard 1.2 from apt-get, or compile squid3 and squidguard 1.4 from the sources ? Which one would be the most stable ?

I already tested the 2nd solution. It works well but I don't like where are all the config, logs and others files. Is there a way to install from sources respecting where apt-get put the files ? I'm not very familiar with this process.

Last question: If I decide to install from sources. What happen when there's a new version ? Can I update or I have to reinstall ?

Thanks a lot for the help..

Please don't double post on the same subject. I've merged you two threads.

You could have a look at the Ubuntu Package Search (http://packages.ubuntu.com/) page, to see if the packages you want are available in the repositories.
