Greetings,

I'll be building a new computer and wanting to install 9.04. I've dual booted on my laptop (xp first then ubuntu) just to get a feel for things, and I have a question for you guys.

If I'm wanting to install Ubuntu first on my new desktop, then Windows 7 whenever it comes out, is there anything special that I need to do when I install Ubuntu (like hard drive partitioning, whatnot) to save room for Windows? Is there any special software I'm going to need? Is there some obvious newb mistake that I'm going to make?

Thanks for the help!

Look here -- you'll want to follow the
How to dual-boot Vista with Linux (with Linux installed first) -- the step-by-step guide with screenshots

http://apcmag.com/the_definitive_dualbooting_guide_linux_vista_and_x p_stepbystep.htm

(by the time you need it they may have added a Windows 7 guide -- but it would be the same as the Vista guide that is already here)

yea when you install 7 it's going to overwrite your grub loader(which brings up the options to select what os to boot) I had to do a workaroud for this

This is what helped me reinstall grub loader
