Hi, Ubuntu newbie here. I have an MSI Wind U100 Netbook that I was running a Hackintosh version of Mac OS X 10.5.7 on. I booted the laptop with a USB drive of the Ubuntu netbook remix OS on it. I wanted to install the netbook OS, but I also wanted to keep my OS X system on there.
I used the Ubuntu partition utility to create a new partition for the Ubuntu OS, and then I resized and moved over the Mac OS X partition. I didn't delete or format it though. In Ubuntu the Macintosh HD appears as a drive on the right hand side. The first time I tried to access the drive it asked me to login, I used my Ubuntu login and password. This let me access the drive, however, I can't get into several sub folders on the drive, nor can I write to the drive, or copy from the drive, so I have extremely limited access to it.
My question is, how do I get full access to this drive? Perhaps I should have used my old Mac OS X login info when I first logged into it? If so, how do I now change those credentials in Ubuntu? Whenever I click on the drive now it automatically logs me in without asking for credentials.
Thanks so much for your help.
