View Full Version : [ubuntu] Only one sound output at a time?

It seems that I cannot have multiple programs using the sound card at the same time. For example, if I have Gizmo or Skype running, I can't listen to Rhythmbox or VLC or hear videos in them. I've tried various configurations in the GUI preferences, but that doesn't help.

I am running triple-boot Jaunty/Leopard/Vista on a MacBook 4,1.

It seems this is a problem with Gizmo and Pulseaudio (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/220073). Gizmo has no plans to fix it, so I guess I'm not using Gizmo. Oh well, I think I've got the problems with Skype in 64-bit Ubuntu ironed out.

Uhm, this problem is (kinda) solved. How do I mark it so, or is that the moderator's job?
