LTSP client mouse problem

I have a new install of Ubuntu Jaunty LTSP Server on an AMD64. The client machines boot beautifully, except that I cannot get the mouse to work. I am using a USB Microsoft scroll mouse. The USB port is powered, but the mouse's laser does not turn on when it is connected to the client machines. It is the same mouse I use on the server, so I know it works. Any help getting it to work would be great.

Problem solved... it was not an LTSP issue at all, but the brand new thin clients have faulty USB. Works after updating BIOS.
