I have a dell inspiron 6400 and I'm running Ubuntu 8.10. I have a 1tb harddrive that I hook into and load alot of my stuff (music, video's, etc.) But up until recently I hooked my lg dare into it and loaded music onto for work, as of last week when i mount it it says that the permissions of "disk could not be determined.

I'm not very good at all this computer stuff just the basics but if anyone has any tips i am sure i can figure it out. Quick learner.

thanks

Can you enter the EXACT error message?

It sounds as if another computer may have changed the usb drive's settings. I'm assuming that this 1-tb usb unit is a FAT32 drive. If it is formatted differently, please add that info too.

Actually it's not my 1tb hdd that's not working it's my mp3 player/phone. It's an Lg Dare with a 4gb mini sd card.

It's message is.

The Permissions of "disk" could not be determined and the screen is empty with no options just that message at the top.
