Hey guys, long time no see.

I've got a flash drive install of linux mint. It's running just fine if I run it on my two custom built pc's but I can't get it to run from my Macbook Pro. MBP is using rEFIt and has no trouble with cd's. I've tried any number of tutorials and seen a lot more that didn't seem to help (such as a slax version here).

I've tried making a boot cd for it but it didn't work. It let me boot into it but it got to the grub menu but wouldn't let me select the boot from usb option. I mean it was selected since it was the only option i put in menu.lst but when I hit enter it never loaded and it didn't seem to have a countdown to boot it.

So any suggestions? I mean the boot cd is less than ideal but I'll use it if I have to. Is there anywhere I could download one that would maybe help me avoid whatever mistakes I made in creating it?

Appreciate the help guys

you have to use a bootcd or use Grub-efi to boot form an external device. Please see the FAQ.
