Hi all
The informatics department of the University of Sussex will be working with Canonical over the summer on the usability of Ubuntu 9.04 interface. The aim is to work towards re-design proposals through user feedback data. Any feedback please send to jaj23@sussex.ac.uk

Because of the flexible nature of the OS, taskbar design is not really a problem. When using different desktop managers/environments eg. Openbox, you can do without a taskbar altogether.

This is a thread requesting Ubuntu 9.04 users to complete a short (5-10 mins) questionnaire survey (15 multiple choice questions, 2 optional extended feedback questions).
This survey is part of a larger study undertaken by the informatics department of the University of Sussex sponsored and supported by Ubuntu's official sponsor Canonical. The study is based on the usability of Ubuntu 9.04 and data collected will lead to re-design proposals for the next major release of Ubuntu.
Results are confidential and your anonymity is guaranteed.
The researchers are also looking for participants to take part in short (45 mins - 1 hour) computer task based interviews in their own homes for a £40 payment incentive. Participants need to be in London or the south east (UK) to apply. Participants in the Brighton area will take priority.
If you would like more information on the study or are interested in participating in user tasks in the London and Brighton area, please contact jaj23@sussex.ac.uk.

had a problem when I tried the survey. After question 1, just went straight to 'thanks for doing the survey'
