Ok, I've had a go at the WineCVS, Cedega install. Downloaded everything required, ran WineCVS.sh but I get an error, that I don't know how to deal with in the CVS Checkout stage of the installation?

--------- Error log - file /home/handy/.WineCVS/sources/cvscedega/ErrorLog : ---------
/home/handy/.WineCVS/Functions/RunWineCVS: line 736: cvs: command not found

Any ideas anyone, I haven't got a clue?

You need to install cvs

sudo apt-get install cvs

Thanks! :KS

I (thought that I) systematically went through & checked that everything was installed before I ran the script...

That was easy, it is going through the install now, maybe no more problems...

That would really surprise me!

Thanks again.

Cedega is installed with the only error being caused by an oversite on my behalf! :KS

Much easier than expected!

Due to my error & my wasting time researching it took me 2.5 hours. Much better than 2.5 days. :D

Now lets see how much trouble I can get into trying to install & run a game.

I'll have a look at Grapevine, a front end for Cedega & see what that's all about.

I'll let you know.

Well I managed to get Carmageddon to work under winxp, which is great, 'cause last time, (a looong time ago, long before sp2) I tried & it would not run.

Anyway I copied into .wine/c_drive/Program Files/carma I tried to make it work in Wine, to no avail. Not that I know what I'm doing, I've only got DVDshrink to work in the past & that's it!

I did the same with GP4, same result, no error message, nothing...

I'll have a go later with cedega & see if I can do any good.

It's late here, time for bed.

Good night
